Lending Fees: $0.50 for toy value less than $50.00
$1.00 for toy value $50.00 to $100.00
$2.00 for toy value $100.00 and over
$3.00 for toy values over $200 – mainly new toys
Borrowing Toys: Toys can be borrowed for two weeks. Overdue toys will incur further hiring fees and a late return penalty.
Age of Members: The Mackenzie Toy Library is for children aged 0-5 years old. When your child reaches five years of age you are entitled to continue borrowing toys for the remainder of your financial year.
Overdue Accounts: If you have an account for damaged, broken or no longer useable toy/s that is not paid within one month of receiving it, no further toys will be issued to you until the account if paid in full.
Care and Responsibility of Toys:
Care of the toys that you borrow is your responsibility. Whilst in your home they are covered by your insurance.
Please ensure all toys are cleaned prior to returning them in consideration of future users.
Please store outdoor toys inside at night to prevent premature ageing.
We advise you check that all pieces of toys and puzzles are there before leaving the library, and when returning them. A fine of $3.00 may be charged for each lost or broken piece, and a receipt issued. If a lost piece is returned a refund will be given.
If you replace a missing or broken piece, please let us know so the piece can be labelled.
We understand that toys break during normal play, so please let us know if this occurs. If a toy is unusable the committee will take into consideration the age and condition of the toy to determine what percentage, if any, that we will ask you to contribute towards a replacement toy.
Please do not exchange toys with friends, even if they are also Mackenzie Toy Library members. All toys must remain at the borrower’s home.
Batteries are included with toys. Please check that battery operated toys are working at the time of hiring. Please advise us if batteries are flat when returning toys so they may be operational for future users.
Toys are borrowed at the borrower’s risk. The Mackenzie Toy Library accepts no responsibility for injury resulting from the use of its toys. It is our aim to promote the safe use of toys. Please bring to our attention any issues with toys that may be of concern.
All information is confidential and we adhere to the Privacy Act.
